I'm one of these people that is forever signing up for classes and forgetting to actually take them. I've been a member of Big Picture Class since March and yet to sign up for a class... Then I saw Paige Evans was bringing out her latest class, Paige's Pages 03 and I told myself "Emma, you are taking this class!!" I've been a big fan of Paige's pages for so long :) They are pieces of art; I love how she uses pattern paper in creative ways and it always looks so effortless!
I've tried to create something similar in the past and they've always come out looking like a mish-mash of craziness so I'm hoping the class will help me out a little! I'm taking it lesson by lesson, so read/watch a lesson, then make a layout before moving onto the next. More fun that way :)
We had to use die-cut shapes for our first lesson. Paige used bows so yep, I used bows too. Haha.
This is a little outside my "norm" so I was nervous to post this online in the classroom and here on my blog too, but I figure that's part of learning - you share it and listen to both the good (well, I can hope, lol) and bad feedback when its given back to you, it's how you learn :)
I HAD to go with a white background on this. Paige's layout uses a lovely pattern paper but that just freaked me out too much - I've got so many papers on this page as it is, ha. White helps balance it (me) out.
And even though I'm nervous to share it, I really enjoyed this lesson and I'm quite happy with the page I made! I used bits and pieces from the Citrus Twist July kits on this one, the white card and gold paperclip came from my stash (and that single little sequin was from June kit).
And yeah, that's a lotta bows on a layout... Hah! So fun. I used the Studio Calico bow die-set and it's cute, but gosh it's fiddly to put together, mostly because they are small. I'd cut more pieces to make the bows but by the time I made these I'd had enough ;)
And that's it! It's out there now. I'm working on the next lesson and that's turning out to be fun too, little less daunting than this one first one though, not sure why. I'm using up scraps..something I have plenty of. If you're looking for a fun class to take I would definitely vouch for this one - 2 classes in and I want to finish the rest (which is a biggy for me, ha!).
Thank you so much for stopping by. Would love to hear your thoughts, good or bad :) Take care!!
