Hi friends! Another fabulous day of NSD challenges have been shared on the Facebook Fan Page and I couldn't help but join in on our last one (with 2 projects! I'll only share one today, the one tomorrow!).
I love going monochrome on a layout - it's another one of those "quick and easy" ways to put a page together - you just have to pick a colour then grab all the bits and pieces that match that and make a page. So fun! Here's a look at my page - I went with blueeeeeeeeee ;)
The May kits actually do not have a tonne of blue in them - something I didn't even look at until after I had picked my colour haha. But I was up for the challenge so I stuck with it! I loved the chevron paper (Wild Heart “Electric”, Crate Paper) that was included in the Paper Play this month so I hand-cut the blue sections from that. To add a different tone of blue I created my own chevron-type shapes using a bit of modelling paste mixed with blue paint! This is about as "messy" as I get ;)
I went with some blue stitching on the RHS of my page then layered my chevron pieces next to it. Popped my photo on top (which is just perfect for a blue monochrome page right? lol) then added all my blue(ish) embellishments around it!
I love how it finished up - it's a simple design and because of the blue focus i didn't have to overthink what to put and where! The longest part to this layout was waiting for my modelling paste to dry so I could cut the chevron patterns lol. YAY for quick layouts!
Don't forget to get your pages up on the Facebook Fan Page today so you're in for a chance to win goodies!!
Thanks for stopping by!! Take care, Em xo
