** Warning - Image heavy post :) ** Hi friends! Finally finished my little mini book AND got the photo's edited, wohoo! So figured I'd best get it blogged before I got completely distracted by my Christmas mini, lol. I feel like I was working on this book for ages. In reality it was a few weeks, which is kinda slow, even for me! But it's all done now and I'm super happy how it's finished up. I really do love making these little books; I find them so fun to put together (even when they drag out like this one did!). I wish I had more exciting things going on in our life so I could create more, haha. I used pieces from a few places for this one - I didn't give myself any limitations :) Alot of it comes from previous CTK kits, but I've added in some new Dear Lizzy pieces too (the stiiiicckkkers!!!); even dug into my Studio Calico stash! Couple things I love about this book (and things I've not tried in a mini before):
OK, are you ready for photo spam?! Here we go! My favourite part about this book? The QR codes! First time I've even thought to add them into a book and it's so awesome. I took a bunch of videos during our break and now they're linked into the this mini book; adds a interactive element that I think is so fun! You can bet I'll be doing this more...assuming I have videos that is, ha. Zack collected a few shells and rather than have them sitting around collection dust I popped them into a pocket and just machine stitched around them to hold them in place. LOVE IT! Phew! All done! Still with me? The book ended up alot chunkier than I thought it would but I kinda love it. Filled it with all those random things you come back with after a holiday (like the napkin from where we had lunch....I don't even know why I had it; but I did, so into the book it went! lol). That "you are magic" sticker is seriously one of my favourites ever. Kinda odd to call the beach magic I know but it really was - Zack loved it and had so much fun there everyday. Next up is the Christmas mini prep, YAY! Can't tell you how excited I am to get that one started. I'm still not 100% sure what I'm doing for my actual album format, currently playing with a little 4x4 but we'll see how it turns out (I painted it white with gold dots, not sure if I like it yet, lol).
Thanks so much for stopping by (and getting through this super heavy photo post!); hope it inspires you to give a mini book a try! Take care, Em xo
