Just dropping in to share a few projects I've made using the new October release, GOSH! THEY ARE AWESOME! Kellie did a collab with Brandi Kincaid and the result is YAYYYY! All the heart eyes for this release. And in bonus news - you can get these in digital AND in clear. WOHOO! I'm more excited about the digital but I know some people actually like to stamp with the real things... Crazy people ;)
Unfortunately I didn't get as much done before release as I wanted; the cameo's blades died on me, even the spares I had wouldn't cut right. Then my parcel that had the new ones in it went MIA for a couple weeks and well, boo hoo, I only got a few projects made. Good news is my happy mail has arrived so I'm able to do the things I want! Sooo, there are definitely more to come ;)
First up is a double-page spread - I cut the "YOU ARE" and used the negative. Did the same for the "SUPERSTAR" which is from the I AM. WE ARE. YOU ARE set. And the "4" is from Digital Jodie 9-5 set.
Lots of mixed alpha's on this. And confetti stars!!! The stars were actually a project from one of Paige's Pages 04 lessons ;) Yeah, I like to multi-group projects if I can.
Next up we have some cards. Now cards are not my thing as such but I actually love making them. Don't take me quite as long, don't have to worry about matching in a photo anywhere and I have someone that actually wants the cards I make. Win win win.
First up is another cut file, using the negative of "OH YEAH CAKE". Best sentiment ever.
Kinda plain I know. I added some bright pink striped paper behind, added stitching on the sides because things feel weird if I don't use my sewing machine, used foam dots to give the cut some dimension, added a few white enamel stars and called it done!
For the inside of the card I used the actual cake doodle and digitally coloured it in Photoshop and then cut to shape on the cameo (obviously before the blades went bleahhhhhhh).
And yay for matching card colours to my nails!
After that card was done the cameo pretty much stopped giving me decent cuts, so I thought I'd play around with making cards using the digital stamps. Again, not awesome, rock your socks kinda stuff, but it was fun to try it out. I even cranked out the letterpress gear! Shock horror! I got messy. Seriously, I did. Pink ink/paint/whatever it is. All over my grey t-shirt. Awesome.
i even played with the watercolours. Colours didn't come out as bright as I wanted. But I didn't want to add more and smudge it all so it is what it is :)
That donut is definitely one of my favorites from the set. Got something else planned for that! Hopefully it turns out OK so I can share it ;)
And lucky last project I've made so far is another card. More letterpress teamed up with the cake doodle stamp (coloured in with watercolours again).
The October release is so fun to use! I've got dozens of ideas floating around in my head of things that I want to do; hoping to have time to try them all out while I'm on holidays!
Now I'm off to finish trying to make real donuts! Special buddy is coming over on the weekend and I promised her donuts. Trying a test batch first - if they suck I figure I'll sneak out and buy good ones, lol.
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Take care :) Em xx
