Hi my scrappy friends!
Happy to be sharing a little TN-inspired mini-book thingy I created using the gorgeous new Dear Lizzy collection, Star Gazer! It's such a pretty collection and I adore all the metallic pieces!
A few weeks back I read a awesome little tutorial for making these TN insert books by Diane on the CTK blog (click here) so I figured I'd give it a shot. And it was so easy! OK, I may have stuff up the stitching part (I used my machine and the tension went funny so I had a bit of lose thread) BUT I just covered it up by adding a contrasting spine on the outside. Boom! Can't see I made a mistake anymore ;)
I used my favourite papers from the collection and added in a few pieces from my stash (plain paper, tags, doilies) and I'm super happy how it turned out for my first attempt!
It's a little mini-book thing about my current scrappy room - I figured I'd document it before I go changing things again. Not that I have any plans to, but you never know with me. I'm forever moving things around ;)
In typical Emma fashion I didn't measure anything - I just folded the 12x12 papers in half, added the random pieces inbetween and machine stitched it together (yeah I went the lazy option of using the machine instead of hand stitching lol). Once that was done I trimmed it down to size. Finished up around 5in x 8.5in - which is probably anything but "standard" but I'm not planning to add it to any TN book so it really doesn't matter too much!
I just love the fun colourful patterns in the new Star Gazer collection! And there are so many cute embellishments to add to your pages! I really wanted to add in one of those jumbo paperclips but it poked out the top and I was worried it might get damaged after I put it in the basket with all the other mini albums, haha. The foam alpha's are truly gorgeous though. The pink peeking out on the sides is my fave!
And here's a little flip through the full thing:
This really was so much fun to put together - I can see myself making more of these books in future!
Thanks for stopping by! Take care, Em xo
