Finally sitting down to share this layout. I actually finished this last weekend but didn't get the photo's done until yesterday. So slack I know.
This one came about because I'm trying to use the Cameo Silhouette more. I've even moved it closer to my actual work desk so that I'll be more inclined to turn it on and use it! Moving the cameo means I need the laptop over my side too (so less desk space) but the cameo works better hooked up to the laptop - for some annoying reason the cameo wont actually connect every time to my desktop (and I have to turn it off/on 10+ times until it does); hence my the reason for my love/hate relationship with it. HA!
This is a cut file that I picked up from The Cut Shoppe a little while ago. I've been getting a few files from Ashley lately so be prepared to see me using cut files in more layouts ;)
I'm still in love with the colours of Lovely Day and I'm smitten with those little flags and trying to find an excuse to put them on every layout at the moment.
For my title I went with one of the chipboard and grouped it with a cut file I created to make it read "Today you are seven". The font I used for that is called Jenthill (super cute isn't it - not a freebie though!). I'm a sucker for buying script fonts.
And then I added the banner! I love the banners! Did I mention that already?! I changed this one a little, I took off the bottom flag (the green clashed with the other colours I'd gone with) and I added one of the puffy stickers instead. Kinda love how it turned out..and the colours match ;)
As usual I just typed my journaling up on the computer and printed it out. I keep wanting to include my own handwriting more but every time I try it I only end up disliking the page, which is a complete waste, so I think I'll be sticking with the typed look.
Love the soft, dreamy colours of the page - not too girly (because my brother would die if I put him on a all-pink page) but still pretty enough because it is a page out my niece after all!
And that's it! I really do love creating pages using cut-files and I'm hoping now it's closer to me I'll get into the habit of using it all the time!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope your weekend is a great one! Take care, Em xo
