I'm in this zone of making easy DIY projects. You know, things like this!
My own photo organiser file thingy! Wohoo!
I found the DIY for making this from Damask Love. Technically she called it a "Stationary Organizer" but I'm totally just using it to organise my photo's. I'm not going to bother showing you how it's made because she already has the best DIY instructions here. (You need to check it out...although while you are there, you should check everything out, she's absolutely awesome and has some of the best DIY's!)
I print all my photo's at home and I am forever printing more photo's than I need. I often print my photo's as I make a layout but I'll always print 2-4 each time because I'm hopless...and also because I print small photo's so I can fit more than 1 image per 6x4 print. So technically it's actually a smart idea; although I seem to have alot of photos' floating about that I've yet to use..which means it's not really effective...but I digress! So I had been throwing all the extra photo's in a little box but they get all mixed up. With this little organiser they are sorted and it makes my geeky-heart happy.
Because I'll be sitting this on the desk (idea being that if it's within reach I'll actually use some of the dozens of photo's I've already printed) I wanted to go with something neutral. I picked the fun black & white house patterned paper for the outside.
I'd like to say I added the blue flower paper on the inside "for contrast" but to be honest it's there to cover the cardboard, ha! I used one sheet of 12x12 to cover both sides and it wasn't quite wide enough to fold over and cover the visible sections of the cardboard on the inside. Mistake or not, I like it anyway ;)
I printed the "categories" on white cardstock (I went with the obvious ones: Zack, Me, Family, Friends, Makayla and Pets/Misc) and then just used a tab punch to cut them out. I adhered the tabs to the back of each divider using double-sided tape. Simple pimple.
And there you go.... An easy little DIY photo organiser for my desk! I'd like to show a photo of it on the desk but it's night and the lighting isn't so great (and I'm too impatient to hold off on posting this until tomorrow). I might pop back later and edit this to add a photo in. Or I might not because I'm old and forget things easily ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care, Em xo
