Hi friends!! Just stopping by to share a page I created using the new Wild at Heart collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio!
I have to confess that when I opened this box of goodies I actually let out a "Oooooooh! Ahhhhhh!" because it's just so pretty (and funny because it made Zack run over because he thought it was something "cool" - and needless to say he was not quite as excited as me...ha!).
I love the tones throughout this collection - it's not as bright as say, Make a Wish (yeah I know...you already know I love it, ha!) - the colours are beautiful and the patterns are just divine!
OK, enough chatter - onto the photo's! Here's the page I created:
This was actually the first page I created using the collection and can I just say how hard it was to actually cut into the paper. I didn't want to waste any of it by messing up haha.
This page is set around making layers. I love using layers of die-cuts/papers behind my photo to create dimension on pages. I actually fired up the Cameo for this one and used the cut file from the store (Colour Me Happy Cut File) to cut a bunch of the flowers out of a few papers.
To start my page off I used one of the chipboard frames behind my photo and then placed a few of the die-cut flowers on opposite corners of my photo. Once that was done I just started building up the layers using the flowers I'd cut from different papers by tucking them underneath until I had them positioned how I like. (I've mentioned this before but I don't stick anything down until the very end - that way I can adjust/subtract/add things without worrying about ruining anything!)
For my title I used one of the chipboard words and a die-cut banner. The chipboard is stuck ontop of the bottom of the photo/chipboard frame (creates another layerrr!) - I just used a few tabs from my glue pen at the back of the chipboard to stick it in place.
I printed my journaling directly onto one of the die-cut tags. I type it up in Photoshop )using a typewrite font) then just stick the die-cut to a 6x4 card and then run it through the printer, super easy. I should just invest in a typewriter...I did have one but it was so big and I didn't want to sacrifice so much desk space just for a typewriter when I can get the same effect using the computer.
To help draw your eyes into the centre of my page I added a couple corner border pieces on opposite edges of the page. I went with the gooooooooorgeous vellum paper for that. Believe me when I say it is SO pretty in person. Love the pattern and the colour!
Then I just added a couple of the word stickers underneath my title and a few enamel dots around my page and it was done! I absolutely love rich the colours on this page. I think they really "pop" with the white background and it's so pretty :)
And that's it! Did you manage to pick up some of the Wild at Heart collection? Would love to hear what you think or even better, see how you've used it! Incase you didn't know we have a CVS Community Facebook page where you can share your pages with everyone - we all love seeing your pages!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care, Em xo
