Hi friends! Finally popping back to share the first of my February kit layouts! Took a little longer than usual to get to me this month (thanks Australia Post..) so I'm super late sharing, but I'm finally here so lets get on with it eh ;)
The February kits are packed with so many gorgeous colours and I've truly enjoyed creating all the layouts I've put together (so far!). The first layout I created features Main Kit and a few stickers from the Embellishment Kit and I am so, so happy how it turned out!
My page started with the XOXO cut letters - I typed the XOXO's up in Silhouette Studio in a few different fonts and then cut them from a few different papers. I layered a few patterns and machine stitched them together. Originally I had planned on having them running vertically on the page with the photo beside the title, but I'd cut them a tad too big so I mixed up the positioning and popped the photo underneath. Worked out quite well I think ;)
Because I'm hopeless at planning pages our properly I'd stuck the XOXO in place and realised I'd not put the journaling on my page (and the paper wouldn't feed through the typewriter...I tried, haha) so I just typed it up on a scrap 4x6 white cardstock piece I had and stuck it in place - would have preferred the typing to be on the page directly but it's not too noticeable so I'll live with it.
Once the basic page layout was set I needed to offset some of that white space (love my white backgrounds but sometimes it's just too much) so I trimmed 1/2 inch off the top/sides and centered it on the blue floral paper. Can I just say, I love that paper! I wasn't so sure about the colour when I'd viewed it online but it's so gorgeous in person!
Then it was time to embellish - which is my favourite step always. I love adding little bits and pieces to the page and I spend ages moving one little bit around trying to get it perfect. I'll be the first to admit my process is not the most efficient but it makes me happy so it's never a waste of time ;)
The stickers in the embellishment kits are so fun so I popped the "HELLO" and "sunshine" directly on top of my XOXO (love the script font!) and then popped the camera above and the "I love you" below. I popped a few of those gold foam crosses around my page to add a little sparkle. The butterfly was the last piece on my page - I felt it needed a bit of green to offset some of the blue and I think it's adds a fun little extra movement on the page.
Super happy how this one finished up! I love the dimension my title has and the colours are so gorgeous! What caught your eye out of the February kits this month? Was it the papers or embellishments?! I thought it would be the embellishments (like usual) but the papers have really caught my attention this month and I am loving those more. Crazy for me, but true!
Well that's it for today - I'll be back a bit later to share my next page! Thank you so much for stopping by, take care! Em xo
