Hi friends! I am so late in sharing my March layouts - February just went by in such a blur! I mean I know it's a short month but it still took me by surprise ;) And here we are a week into March already! (Almost time for a certain somebody to turn the big 11....he's so excited!).
OK enough blabber - onto my first layout! And it's a colourful one ;)
Rainnnnnnnnnbooooooooow! Who doesn't love a rainbow?! Seriously. Such fun! I used a combination of all the kits on this one and I love how it finished up. I confess that this one took a bit of time to put together but it was so worth it! I actually punched all those little stars while watching a movie one night then put the layout together the following day.
I created the rainbow but punching small half inch circles first and sticking them to a plain paper, then I stuck all those tiny little stars on top, that way I didn't have to worry about filling the white space entirely!
I typed my journaling on white cardstock using my new WRMK typewriter (loving it more and more!) then trimmed it down slightly so I could use the fun triangle patterned paper as my border - the colours match the rainbow perfectly! I fixed it in place by machine stitching on a couple of the edges (zig-zag pattern for a bit of contrast).
For my title I teamed one of the word paper clips and a die-cut. These word paper clips are so fun!
Once I'd stuck all those little stars down I thought it might be nice to add more stitching in coordinating colour ontop and thankfully it turned out OK! My machine didn't exactly love going over all that glue but fortunately it didn't wreck it ;)
And to finish the page off I popped a few of the puffy stars around my journaling to fill some of the white space with more colour! And although I was trying to fill some of some of the white space, the white background really makes the colours pop!
I love using rainbows - no matter what the subject of your page is, it's always a good idea :)
First page shared ;) I'll be back in a few days to share some more (have a page and another little mini, wohoo!). Thanks so much for stopping by. Take care, Em xo
