Hi friends! Happy New Year!! I hope you're having a great start to the year no matter how you celebrated (mine was super quiet!).
Just stopping by to share my first page using the CTK January Sugarland kits. The kits this month are GORGEOUS, right?! Which is your favourite? I thought it was Main until I started using the PL and Add-on...and now I can't decide. There are so many pretty goodies in each of them (not to mention the exclusives! All of which I want to hoard instead of use...ugh),
OK, lets get to it shall we! My first page is using Main kit only :)
This page finished up alot different to how it started. I used a star background cut file from Paige Evens @ the Silhouette Design Store and backed it up with some of my favourite papers and added some machine stitching around a few of them. I couldn't get the photo to work with the layout of the stars so I picked up my scissors and just cut each of them individually (leaving a small white border around them).
Now that they were individual pieces I could scatter them around the page and fit them in with the other embellishments I wanted to put on the page! Win!
Before I put all the stars in position I actually started with the photo and the unicorn sticker. I just had to use the unicorn sticker on this page, I know that technically her cake is a horse but I think it fits in with the page anyway! I positioned the sticker so it's peeking out on the right side of my photo.
Once I had those settled I started adding the stars around the page to fill things out. The bulk are at the bottom of my page but I scattered a few at the top and beside the unicorn as well (one start is strategically positioned on top of the photo so it hides most of the TV in the background of the photo!).
My journaling and title took a bit of time to position - I know they probably seem like the easiest to work out but I'd originally wanted the title straight under my photo but because the black is so prominent I thought it distracted from the photo too much. So I pushed the journaling up (also stuck it on top of one of the stickers) and moved the title down to the bottom of my page.
Then I just had a bit of space to fill at the top of my page so I popped the balloon stickers underneath the left of my photo's (picked them because colours were a perfect match) and I added the "celebrate" sticker on the right with a bit of that white pompom trim underneath (used some foam dots underneath to give the sticker a bit of dimension).
And last but not least, I finished the page off by filling in some of the white space using the small start/pompom (atleast I think that's what they are..) stickers!
I'm super happy how this one finished up - I adore the colours of this page, they're a perfect match for a page about my niece. The Main kit has the perfect blend of goodies in it! I've been using pieces of the Main in all of my pages so far (4 down as of this moment with another in progress - the kits are so fun to work with!).
Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back in a few days to share my next page! Take care, Em xo
