Hellooooooo! I'm back! Yes, I'm actually remembering to pop back and share layouts in a timely fashion ;)
I kinda really love this next page. Every now and then I actually get surprised whereby I've had a heap of fun making something AND I honest to goodness love how it turned out. Generally I kinda like what I make anyway but some more than others. This is one of those. Which usually goes to mean that it completely bombs out, lol. But can't win them all can you ;)
This features a little something from Main, Add-on and Embellishment kits (plus a stamp from the PL kit):
Oh yeah, SEQUIN/CONFETTI POCKET THINGIESS! Is that why I love it? Hmmm maybe. Although I just love the overall look. And...chevron pattern?! I mean...what the!
As with many of my pages - what I started with and what I finished with are completely different things. My first attempt had mint confetti in circle pockets but I couldn't make it work. Why the chevron idea popped into my head I do not know - but it did, and I love it!
I created these by just using white cardstock as my background then I used the packaging from the die-cuts and machine stitched it ontop (leaving a little gap to put the confetti/sequins in). The confetti is made using a circle/start hand-punch out of some of the die-cuts in the Add-on kit. Then I just popped it plus those heart sequins inside and machine stitched them closed!
I'm a sucker for all the pinks in the kits this month; just can't tear myself away from them. I used the b-side of "Life Goals" (which is included in the Main kit) for my background then added white cardstock ontop that's slightly smaller than my 6x8 overall. I added my chevron-y pockets on each side then popped my photo ontop so that it and my title were roughly centered on the height of my page.
My journaling is typed up on the computer again and I popped it above my photo then I actually used a couple stamps on the bottom left to balance it out. I'm not the greatest stamper I admit, but as long as I'm using them, that's all that matters!
I added a few of the star chipboard pieces (from the Embellishment kit) around my photo to add a bit of balance to the page (I find that the black title was a little "in your face" but the black stars kind of balance it out - plus they form that "three points" around the photo that I always subconsciously seem to do...).
I do love those confetti/sequin pocket thingies, I really do, haha.
And there you go! Another page done and dusted, wohoo! I've so enjoyed creating with the CTK January kits this month, they've really inspired me and I'm having FUN creating.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Take care, Em xo
