I'm back to share a little card I made using the CTK January kits! The "Written On My Heart" Add-on kit has the cutest Valentine-themed die-cut pack included (from Crate Paper so you know they are going to be awesome!) and I thought it might be fun to try making a card using them. Now I am no card maker by any stretch of the imagination, but it was something different and that's always a good thing to try out :)
The base of my card is just white cardstock and I used one of the papers from the Add-on on top (b-side of Main Squeeze "Cute Pear" from Crate Paper), using my sewing machine to stitch it in place.
In the centre of my card I have a layered tag - it's 4 layers to be exact. Tag die-cut at the bottom, book page, vellum and then another tag die-cut ontop!
On the top tag, along the bottom, I've stuck a bit of that gorgeous white pom-pom trim. Mostly because I just love that trim but secondly to add a bit more dimension (and third, I think it looks cute!).
To finish the card off I popped a few sequins at the top left/bottom right as well to give it a little extra sparkle!
I created my own envelope to fit the card using the pink cardstock included in the Add-on and I added a envelope liner using the floral paper (Wild Child "Paper 3" from Pink Paislee). Finishes it all off nicely don't you think? ;)
As I said, it's not the fanciest card out there (definitely won't be giving up my day job to make cards lol) but my dad loves it so he's going to give it to my mum!
And this didn't take too long to put together which makes it a major win in my book. Turned out to be a fun little project using some adorable kit pieces! Win win :)
Hope your week has been a great one (mine is so/so - I'm back at work, so not a horrible week, but I'd much rather still be on holidays...). Thanks so much for stopping by again, I really appreciate it. Take care, Em xo
