Hi friends! Just stopping by to share another layout using the CTK March kits!
This page is using Main Kit only and I've kept things fairly simple. Sometimes I tend to fuss over the smallest of details, and although it may not look it, I can waste so much time deciding on the placement of the little things....which is great...and annoying.
But not so with this page! I picked my papers/embellishments before starting and I made myself stick to using those only. And it actually worked! And I didn't spend hours putting it together. Hooray!
As you can see it's pretty simple. The most time consuming part of this page is the patterned paper border on the LHS and even that didn't take long! I went with pinks and greens (green of tree, pink in Makayla's t-shirt) and teamed those with neutrals to break the colours.
I wasn't sure how I was going to use the papers when I picked them but I ended up cutting little strips (they're small, I'd guess 1/8 inch wide) then just sticking them to a piece of plain cardstock and stitching them in place to create a border. I used my little guillotine to cut the paper strips so it was super quick and easy.
I used my WRMK typewriter to type the journaling directly onto the white cardstock background then popped my photo underneath. For my title I went with the "adventure" die-cut piece, I wanted it to act like a "tag" so I've machine stitched it at the top then folded it up to add a bit of dimension. I popped the arrow/heart puffy sticker at the top because I love hearts :)
To finish it off I used one of the flair buttons directly on top of the photo - mostly to hide some of the things in the background of my photo, but I think it helps balance the page too (it felt a little too sparse at the bottom with just the photo there),
It's a clean and simple design but I think it works. Sometimes it's nice change of pace to limit yourself and not spend hours fussing over the small details! (I actually try to scrap this way alot of the time but more often than not, I fail by adding in more items, but when I can actually stick to it - it's awesome, lol).
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate you taking the time! As always, take care! Em xo
