May reveal is finally here, wohooooo! This month's kits are not quite as bright as April but are absolutely gorgeous with aquas and golds, and pops of colour throughout all the kits! I must admit that a couple of the papers threw me at first, but I decided to challenge myself to use those first and those layouts just happen to be my favorites from this month! Always the way ;)
Almost all the layouts are up in the CT gallery now (along with the other amazing DT layouts, seriously, I am amazed by everyone's layouts this month!) but as always, I like to share them here with a little blahblah of how it came together ;) Couple layouts you wont see until mid/end of month as they're part of sketch challenges!
First page I put together is this one. The chevron pattern really stumped me at first because of the size - pattern size always matters for me given I scrap 6x8, I often find harder to use the bold/big patterns because they can overpower the layout, but I'm happy how it ended up. This is all from the Main kit, Life is.., only.
I cut the softer colours from the paper - got rid of the pinks, blacks, yellows and stuck with greens and neutrals. Then I cut the same pattern from white cardstock and sewed that at the top and bottom of the page. Tucked the photo underneath and added the title on angles to match the pattern. Actually took me ages to get this one right as originally I wanted to sew the pattern in matching colours (tried greens, gold and tan) but it looked...funky, and not in a good way lol. I like where it ended up though :)
I love all the gold in this month's Sprinkles kit. Soon as I saw those gold leaf sequins I knew I had to make a page about the Autumn weather - I'd taken a few photo's (ridiculous amounts really lol) last year with all the yellow leaves on the ground and knew I had to make this page. I picked papers from the Main kit and both the paper add-on's - sticking with the golds and yellows. Label at the bottom is from my stash.
I have to say, I really love those couple gold leaf sequins that seem to be falling down the page from the other group. :)
That's it for today, will be by in next couple days to share some more!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope your weekend is a fantastic one! Happy (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day too!!!
