Little dude is at birthday party today (one of my girlfriend's kids so I didn't have to stay, and you better believe I did a runner, wohoo) so I've had time to sit down and play with the twist for the Society52 challenge - add black to your layout.
Hmmmmmmm... Tricky one.
I went with black hearts and some enamel dots because I love both. Yep, black hearts. Kinda a little morbid like? Nah. Maybe. Haha. Booted up the faithful cameo and cut dozens of these things. Only ended up using 4. Now I'll have to come up with something to use the rest, lol.
I hope you're having a great weekend. We've actually got some sunshine here. AMAZING! After weeks of rain, rain and some more rain its a nice change :)
So last week I got a happy email from the gorgeous Maggie asking me if I would be guest designer for this week's Society52 challenge..... Um, me?! Yes, yes, yes!
This week's challenge is a really good one too, I got lucky! Just use a banner or banners on your layout.
The twist this week?! To add atleast 3 circles to your layout.
Now that one kinda stumped me. I grabbed the punches, sequins, chipboard pieces, enamel dots, whatever I could find that was round. Ended up settling on some simple veneer circles. I know; so plain! But it's what I do ;)
It's Friday night here and I am so ready for the weekend! Planning to get a new coat of paint in the bathroom up and Zack is going to "help". That outta to be fun. Ha!
Hope your weekend is a good one!
I actually did it. I know, I'm kinda in shock myself.
The layout actually came together kinda quick. Sat down once Zack was in bed and finished in a couple hours. Happy days :) Now to see what the twist will be....eek!
Hooray for Friday's! Two days off work and no need to get in bed by 10pm because of 4:30am wake up alarm! Zack's in bed by 8pm (not asleep mind you, but atleast bed is a start) and I can sit down to play with paper. My only plan of attack for tonight was to get cracking on the Society52 challenge before the next one came up!
I went with grid, kind of combining it with the SB sketch from SC's Sunday Sketch, although my grid went a little wonky...
First part of challenge was to use mint and navy:
Then the twist was to add in some hot pink!
I loved playing along with this one. The twist adds such a fun element to the whole challenge! Even though I was late putting mine together I played along in the same style - put my navy/mint layout together then tried to figure out how to get some hot pink into the action.
Cant wait for the next one :)
Proudly designing for:
