Bit of a random post today. I went into my craft room this afternoon with plans to crate something messy but couldn't find my mojo, so instead I spent the afternoon cleaning my room! Not nearly as fun but makes me feel better ;) I've not been in here since getting my NSD projects together so the room was a mess...but not anymore!
And because it's clean I had to snap some photos and then I figured I'd share them here because why not!
Last week I was tidying up my crafty space so that my mum can use my main working desk for her sewing (easier to cut out patterns and whatnot from the standing desk) and I started playing with my little letter board (bargain buy from Kmart) - they are such a fun little thing! As I was searching for a new message to put on it, I decided I wanted to get another one but in something other than black. Now I love the store brought ones, but I didn't feel like spending $50-$75 bucks on a letter board "just because". So off to Pinterest I went!
Hi my scrappy friends!
Happy to be sharing a little TN-inspired mini-book thingy I created using the gorgeous new Dear Lizzy collection, Star Gazer! It's such a pretty collection and I adore all the metallic pieces!
I'm on this kind of mission to use more of my stuff. I'm like most scrapbookers out there - we love "stuff". I really love getting new stuff. But I have a bad habit of hoarding it, then storing it and after a while, forgetting it exists. My biggest issue is- out of sight, out of mind. So, I'm on a mission to "Put everything in clear jars/bowls so I can see it".
Now that sounds like a great idea except you have to be able to put those clear jars somewhere so that you can actually see them. I'm lucky that I do have plenty of shelf space but I'm not sure if I want it full of jars..... So although I've set myself a mission, I'm not entirely sure how to make it work in my space lol. It's crazy I know. I wish I could say I think these things through before putting them into action...but...I don't :)
Made a start on my clear jar's though and I confess they do make me HAPPY! It's nice to be able to see everything without going through drawers.
First up were my flairs and random acrylic pieces. I'm actually using clear dessert bowls for now, haha. I love kitchen items for storage :)
And my veneer! Ahhhhh, my veneer. I don't use it nearly enough but I really love collecting it. Ha! I had it all separated in groups (stars/hearts/shapes/words/letters/banners/etc) but now it's all in one big jar! And I really love it! I've always loved digging through to find things and if I really need to find one specific little piece, I'll just tip it out on the desk and rummage through that way.
And it's only 2/3 full. Got heaps of room for more ;)
Started mixing up some of my alpha's too. Yep, straight into more jars!
That's all I've managed for now. Mainly because I've taken these out...
And I really cannot decide if I should mix them up or not! It's a serious problem....
I want to. But I don't want to do it, end up hating it, then have to sort through them all again. Split up they're pretty, rainbow colours always are, and the containers are clear but still..... I'm on a mission! Need to be consistent, lol.
I put it out to everyone on Instagram yesterday and it looks like the majority are saying to keep them as they are... Maybe.... Haha.
Hope your weekend was a great one. Ours was quiet, getting ready for Zack to go back to school. Holidays are over, WOHOOO! Haha. He's not so happy about it but we may be just a little bit excited about getting back into routine :)
Anyway, just a random post to share my new storage idea. Not sure if you enjoy reading about these things - maybe you could let me know?! I'd love to know if you love/hate it - that way I'm not boring you :) Thanks for stopping by!! Take care, Em xo
