I'm sure you've seen the blog hop doing the rounds lately. Last week the amazingly talented and just plain adorable Maggie Massey linked me up as one of her favourites!! Can you believe it?! Although admittedly I got the email after she had already posted it on her blog! Hehe, sorry Maggie ;) xx
Maggie happens to be one of my scrappy idols (I maybe even a slight girl crush because she's just that cool..and yes, I just said girl crush...). I love going through her gallery every month. Incase you haven't done so, you really, really should (go on, click here! you know you want to!). Some of my recent faves from Maggie are:
Simply awesome, no?! Love her work!
So part of this fun little blog hop is that I need to answer a few questions and then post some of my favourite scrappers so you can then check out their amazing work and so on! Here we go:
What are you working on right now?
Nothing at the moment! This month's SC Poet Society kits have arrived and I've already got a couple layouts done! Weekdays tend to be a little quieter for me, layout wise, but I've got a couple more ideas going through my noggin' so I'll have to steal some time to get them done!
How long does it take to do a project?
If I finish in 2 hours I consider it a win! Average is somewhere between 2-4 hours per layout. I prefer to finish a layout in one sitting but I've been known to finish, wake up in the morning, check it out and make changes because it wasn't right (i.e. it was after midnight, the coffee had stopped working and I finished in a rush so it looked crappy, lol).
What are my favourite things to create with at the moment?
Well I only use the SC kits so depends what comes in those each month! One thing I cant leave off a layout is stitching though, does that count as a favourite thing to create with?
How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
I love Pinterest. The member/CT gallery at SC is high on the list too - I scroll through that almost daily and love seeing how everyone interprets the same materials (kits) each month! As to how I stay inspired....well it comes and goes to be honest. I have weeks where I come up with ideas and others where its all just so bleah. Kinda sucks when it's all bleah, but I'm learning to roll with it and just do something else until I get that lightbulb moment. The fact that Zack has me suckered into Minecraft lately doesn't help either, its a terrible distraction...and I know, I know...Minecraft...really Emma...
What is my signature style?
You know I honestly don't know how to answer that one! I don't know how I would describe my own layouts haha. I don't think I'd class as my style as "clean" exactly or artsy, whimsy, pretty... How would you class my style? Please tell me so I can label myself ;)
Now onto the fun stuff - the three ladies I've picked are:
Kelly Noel - Seriously, what is not to love about everything Kelly does. She amazes me away me every. single. month. I've been a big fan of Kelly since I first jointed SC. In fact the first layout I ever posted was a lift of one of her layouts (when I actually scrapped 12x12!). Mine on left, Kelly's on right (obviously).
Some recently layouts of Kelly's that I love:
Andrea - I've been a secret stalker of Andrea's for a while. I have to admit I'm not one for doing an art journal but Andrea's is just plain amazing and it often makes me think I should give it a go ;)
Aimee (who originally tagged me but hasn't posted it, so I figured I'd beat her to the punch..) - Her PL layouts are so good and I wish I could keep my layouts as balanced as she does (and that I was as meticulous at the planning like she is!).
And there you have it! If you've not checked the ladies blog's before I really hope you will - they are so inspiring!
