Sorry it's been a little quiet here; the weeks just seem to be flying by. Work is insane and dad's been in, out and then back into hospital this past week so I've just not had the chance to sit down and write here like I should! Forgive me :)
Just a quick stop in today too - wanted to share that I'm up on the CTK blog today with the Sunday Sketch challenge! Loved the sketch this week - used circles for my photo's! Always fun :)
Here's a sneak peek!
I hope you'll stop by to check it out and remember if you play along, upload it to the CTK gallery for a chance to win a $5 voucher to the CTK store! Yay!!!
Hope your weekend has been a fantastic one. Thank so much for stopping by :)
Take care, Em xo
Back again to share a few more layouts from the November kits!
And completely unrelated...4th post this week!! It's got to be some kind of record (for me)! Pretty sure I won't be able to keep this up, but had lots to show this month which is awesome!
Next up I wanted to challenge myself to use more than 2 photo's on a layout. Almost all of mine are 1 photo only with the occasional 2 photo layout, 3...maybe once or twice but 4?! Never! So I did just that.
Was going for a banner kinda effect and used stitching to act as my "line" on each page. Little bit from the Main, Pocket Life and Paper Play #2 on this one!
It was actually alot of fun! Challenging because of my smaller page size, but I did it and I don't think it looks too shabby so I'm calling it a win! ;)
And last one I can show you for now is this one! I have to admit, I kinda really like this one...
I used watercolour paints to colour it in! What's that?! You're in shock?! I know, kinda surprised me too. The background paper is from Paper Play #2, it's the b-side of "Paper 9" by Seven Paper (bottom right shown below).
I didn't bother trying to keep within the lines, I was going for that "messy on purpose" kinda look, something I totally can't do, but I think this worked out OK!
I really enjoyed making this page and can totally see me mixing up some of those black/white patterned papers in future doing this same thing! I'm totally behind the eight-ball with using watercolours I know, it's been going on for ages...slow learner here people ;)
And that's it for today! Still a few more to go but they'll be up on the CTK blog a bit later this month ;)
Oh and HAPPY FRIDAY!! I'm having a quiet one at home (although that's not exactly something new). Planning to start on Lesson 3 of Paige's Pages and *cross fingers* try Skype for a scrappy-date with my favourite red-head girlyfriend.
Hope your Friday is a great one and your weekend even better! Thanks so much for stopping by! Em xo
So I have to admit, Kellie completely messed with my head this month by releasing her November stamps today instead of on the 1st! Keep feeling like I'm way behind and missed the deadline lol.
The first set of this month's release is all about summer which is a good thing considering the set is called Summer of 2016. ;) Looky-see!!
And as usual, sharing layouts in the order they were made :)
First up I used the "love it" stamp to create a pattern on white cardstock. It's really hard to see in the photographs, but I actually printed it using my laser printer then I used the Minc and foiled it in rose gold!!!!!
And naturally, once I'd foiled that I couldn't just stop there. Oh, no, no! I just had to do the heart and the title too. Loving the little Minc. But I digress ;)
For my next layout I used the "SUMMER" stamp and created a cut file for the Cameo. I have to admit this one was just a little tedious because the cut file is intricate (well the size I cut for my page is) but I absolutely LOVE this background. Just took me ages to stick it down in place haha.
So remember me talking about foiling things earlier? I have decided that the Minc + Kellie's Stamps = PERFECT TITLES! Check these babies out:
Ahhh!! Yayyyy! Aren't they pretty?!! Here's more shots of the same at different angles because honestly....YAYYYY!
They're just so pretty in person. Planning to print/cut lots more (and foil in all kinds of colours) so I can have them ready to go for the upcoming summer layouts I'm bound to make :)
And that's it for today! What's your favourite from this month's release? Would love to hear (and see - link me up!!!) how you've been using some of Kellie's Stamps!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Take care! Em xo
So excited to see Paige's new class up at BPC. I love Paige's classes! They are always fun and I'm always trying/using things I wouldn't normally. As soon as she posted on IG that it was up I went over and got started on the first lesson; happy to say I finished yesterday and I kinda like it :)
For this lesson we had to use ribbon. I've got a bit of the stuff but never use it; just sits in the jars on the top of my shelf because I like the colours haha.
I went with circles and followed a rainbow kinda pattern. Because who doesn't love a rainbow?! I used trusty old punch for the circles, adhered the ribbon then stitched around the edge to make sure it doesn't fall off. I'm terrible at sewing circles...they all ended up so wonky ;)
Loved first lesson and can't wait to get going on Lesson 2!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care :) Em xo
