Happy Halloween! Or for most of Australia, Happy end of month because we don't really celebrate Halloween ;) Speaking of end of month...what the ?! Seriously, October went WOOSH! And there are only like 54 days to Christmas. Freaks me out.
We're actually doing a little Halloween thing tonight. Zack asked so like the sucker I am; I said yes and have spent the last 2 days running around trying to find things to be "Halloweeny". He'll be Grim Reaper. I'm a witch, I think. But so is mum. Which means I could end up as anything. Even managed to do the entrance up a bit (i.e. added cobwebs, spiders, skulls, pumpkins and have some illuminated lanterns, lol), nothing flash because as it turns out, trying to get things 2 days out from Halloween is kinda tough, not alot to pick from that doesn't cost a fortune! Ah well, it'll be a bit of fun.
Anywhos! Last night I managed to get a layout done. A month or so back I finally put in an order from Quirky Nook to have a few custom pieces made up; they turned up a few weeks ago and I LOVE THEM! I particularly love this one:
It's absolutely gorgeous in person. Seriously. And I love wearing it. Whenever I'm wearing it and look down own at my wrist (as you do, you know, throughout the day..) it makes me happy. And that's such a good thing so I had to make a layout to remember that :)
I made the ruffles on the bottom from tissue paper. The bottom 2 papers (bright pink and black/white dots) were actually part of the packaging the bracelets came in! Loved the colours so held onto it just so I could use them on a layout at some point!
The pattern paper at the top comes from one of Ali Edwards December Daily Mini Kits, by Ashley Goldberg. (Side note, the kit by Ashley G.......AMAZING. SO SO GOOD.)
Title is from last month's CT embellishment kit (foam thicker words by Dear Lizzy, Documentary line).
And that's it! I just love the colours; thanks to Christine for the inspiration :) And the Gregorius bracelets! Can't wait to get a few more ;)
I hope your weekend is a great one whether you're celebrating Halloween or not! Thanks for dropping by!
Stay safe :) Em xo
So happy I can actually share some sneaks this month! Kits arrived super early this month; and after last month's delays, I'm just a tad happy about that! Finished 4 layouts already which just goes to show how good these kits are. They're SO easy to use; loving them all :)
First sneak features bits from the Main & Pocket Life.
Next up features bits from the Add-on (this has a boy/girl theme and you can specify which you would prefer when ordering!)
This next sneak has a little from the Main, Pocket Life & Embellishment kits!
And last up we have this one with bits from the Main, Pocket Life & Paper Play #2. This layout was actually a challenge to myself to use multiple photo's on a layout - tend to stick with one most of the time and I wanted to mix it up ;)
And that's it! There will be more of course (for blog posts next month) but I"ll be able to share these ones in a week or so (how it is nearly November already?! AHHHH).
Hope your week has been a great one. Little excited that its Friday tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the weekend; hoping the weather brightens up for the school fete on Saturday!
Thanks for stopping by. Take care! Em xo
Sooo, I'm back at work this week. Super excited about that. /end sarcasm
BUT on a much happier and infinitely more exciting note, I'm up on the Citrus Twist Kits blog today sharing a layout I made using the October Main kit. Made my own stars! I'm sure I've mentioned this before but...I love stars. They're my fave. Here's a sneaky peek but I hope you'll swing by the CTK blog to read more!
I hope the start to your week has been a great one :)
Thanks for stopping by. Take care! Em xo
Just a quick stop to share a new layout about my favourite month of the year! October is my fave - weather is spot on (not too hot, although we've had some 30+ days already, eww) and the days get longer with daylight saving kicking in. I usually catch the sunrise on the way to work and its awfully pretty so here's a page to remember it ;)
Used my October kits from Studio calico on this one. The background is actually a cut file, the word October repeated over and over, out of vellum then just stitched in place :)
Those circle chipboard pieces are kinda awesome too. Love that I could use the negative piece (once I took all the circles out) on a page - perfect size for me!
Hope your week has been a great one! Only few more days to my holiday break then I'm back at work. Boo. BUT my November Citrus Twist Kits arrived today and OH MY GOSH! Yummo! They are the reason I'm keeping this short - want to go and get started with those haha.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care, Em
