One of the good things about the first week back from holidays is that almost all the jobs happening are already organised so I don't have alot to do! Which means Wednesday's work from home actually turned into half work/half play!
Because I'm in such a small area now I figured I should see how annoying its going to be for the next couple months...turns out it's not too bad. Can't have everything out on my desk like usual but it didn't slow things down all that much. Let's hope it stays that way, ha!
I started this layout with the sole intention of using brads. Not sure why, just popped into my head and so that's what I went with. I cheat a little with brads. Because I'm so indecisive about where I want things to go (even after I've "finished" the layout, I often move something around) and well with brads once you've put a hole in the paper you are kinda stuck so I cut the back metal bits off and use pop dots to stick them down. That way I can move them easier :)
I actually wanted to use red twine up the top but I can't find where I've put it :) Had to use red cotton instead!
I'm actually glad I got a layout done this week, I feel guilty when i don't do something, isn't that weird! We have lots to do this weekend so not sure I'll will have the time to do something, but now I'm done, wohoo! :)
Back to work + packing up the house ready for renovations means things may get a little quiet around here. Finally got most of the house packed up and set out my new crafty area (little desk in the corner of the room, lol) and most of my
"stuff" is in tubs. Going to be some interesting couple months!
Fortunately I've got the SC kits to look forward to and I'm loving this month's release, Walden. I got it all! Yep, woke up bit before 3am for Presale (I know, crazy) and nabbed all the add-ons (minus stamps of course because I fail at stamping). The gallery from the CT this month is AMAZING. There are so many layouts that I just adore - the whole creative team have done an amazing job with this kit so I'm really looking forward to getting it in my hands!
And just because a post feels weird without posting some photo's - here are a few snaps from our school fete on the weekend. It's just a small thing but its fun. Weather was perfect, kids behaved (no drama, no arguing at all, very strange...) and after 3 hours they'd seen their buddies/been on enough rides and wanted to go home. Win!
Hope your week is a fantastic one :)
Spring is my favourite season of the year without a doubt. We get some rainy days but for the most part, its sunny but not hot - perfect for being outside!
I had a box of happy mail show up this week with Heidi Swapp goodies and the first thing that got my attention was this bright yellow chipboard piece with "hello" on it and I knew I wanted to combine it with some flowery paper to do a layout about Spring. And voila! Nothing too flash but I like it :)
And yes, I may have placed the ball strategically so to make the dog sit within the frame. BJ is always running around like a mad man (but so is Zack for that matter) - hard to get him to sit still long enough for a photo!
It's no secret that I love Pinterest. I can spend hours going from pin to pin. So when I'm stuck for a layout it's the first place I tend to go to. Which is exactly how this layout came about..
I was inspired by two very different pins, this one and this one. The background took alot longer than I was expecting but was actually a fun one to put together :)
I think I'm finally getting used to working in a small area too, found my groove I suppose. That's not to say I'm secretly hoping the next 3 months go really, reeeeeeeeeallly fast so I can get my room back again....
