Just stopping by to share my next layout from Paige's Pages class over at Big Picture Classes. I may have been naughty and skipped a lesson to get to this one....oops?! This is actually Lesson #3. I will go back and do #2 but last night I was feeling this one more so I went with it. Ha!
This lesson was about using paper strips. Paper strips to make a starburst = win! I used the Brimfield SB kit from Studio Calico on this layout (with a few of the enamel dots from the PL kit as well).
This was sooooooooooooooooooooooo much faster to put together in comparison to the previous class lesson layout . WIN! Not that I don't love that rainbow page (so all that effort was totally worth it!) but it was nice to smash this one out in a night ;)
I'd love to know if you are doing any classes over at BPC? And I definitely need to know if you are doing Paige's class so I can swing by your blog and check them out (so if you are, please let me know!).
Hope your week is a great one! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'm sure you've already seen the amazing IG Hop that Kellie has going on at the moment but I thought I would pop in to share the page I made using one of the stamp sets! I created a cut file (agaiiiiiiiin, haha) using the Joy word from the JOY set. Kinda in love with Jodie's script ;)
Can I just say, it's just a little weird scrapping Christmas layouts now. And a reminder just how close Christmas is getting. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Title is cut out of white cardstock and backed up with vellum (I increased the thickness of the lettering so it sits outside the actual white letters). I quite like how it turned out ;) Plus white + gold = win!
And that's it! If you're on IG remember to swing by all the DT's and join in for a chance to win some amazing stamps!!
Hope the start to your week has been a great one! Thanks for stopping by :)
I've already mentioned I'm a big fan of Paige Evans' classes at BPC so I was super excited when the latest class went up! It's been on my list to tackle and I've only just had time to sit down and get started. LOVE it already! First lesson is done and I'm already wanting to jump straight into the second.
This lesson had us creating chevron patterns using triangles! Because my pages are so small I went with 3/4 squares cut down to triangles....with no punch. Good old paper cutter and scissors for this one, so the actual prep time was kinda long but I have to admit, it wasn't all that bad :)
I went with a rainbow for my pattern - using a mixture of pattern paper (from my scrap bin! yay for using those little pieces of paper I have kept hold of for who knows how long!).
I don't mind admitting I kinda like how this one turned out ;)
Originally I was only doing a single page but once it was all done I didn't want to cover up the pattern haha. So I turned it into a double page and had the pattern follow over at different lengths so the photo could sit there without covering it all up ;) All these colours make me happy!
Now I'm going to jump straight into Lesson 2! YAY!!
Hope your weekend is an amazing one! thanks so much for stopping by!
So I have some suuuuuuuuuuper exciting news to share!
But before I do - the amazing Kellie made an announcement this week that she was switching from physical stamps to digital. Now for those of you that actually stamp, you might be a little sad about the news but I am like, YAYAYAYAYAY! *happy dance* They are FINALLY in a way I can use them ha! It's no secret that stamping and I don't really go well together, but digital files I can use! So to cut a long story short; I was lucky enough to see a few of them early and got to play around by creating cut files, etc. And let me just say, it is SO MUCH FUN people! It's got me using my Cameo that is neglected more than its used ;)
And then (this is the exciting news part and the point of this post) - Kellie asked me join her Creative Team! AHHHHHH! Me?! HELLS YES! Feeling so lucky to be asked and I can not wait to show you more of Kellie's amazing work! I will preface by saying I'll probably end up using the stamps to create cut files most of the time - for one, they look awesome that way and two, it's fun!
So rather than just share the existing news and leave it at that, I thought I'd share just a couple of the layouts I've managed to make this week using some of the new digital stamps :)
The first layout I created was actually part of a blog post for Citrus Twist (click link to see!) but my next layout I created is this one, using the "You Little Cutie" stamp from the Kiddo set to create a cut file for my background. I just tiled the stamp over the full page height, easy one. The bonus to this layout was using up some of those scrap pieces of paper I have so much of - little hard to see, but behind each line of wording is a slightly different pattern paper - all pink of course :)
Plus I just had to use that flamingo on a page. It's been sitting in a bowl on my desk begging to be used. I had it on the page, took it off, had it on, took it off then finally I just had to stick it down! I'm not sure how the flamingo fits the layout but it's there and I love it :)
Next up I used the HELLO stamp from the WHAT? set. Soon as I saw this set I knew I had to create another cut file (I warned you! me + cameo gonna be like best buds!). So I cranked up the Cameo again, created a cut file from the stamp - sent it through and voila! Helllllllooooo!
Originally I thought I'd use the negative of the cut and layer the coloured letters on top but the negative got a little lost so I'm saving that for something later ;) I actually used something other than plain white cardstock as my base (SHOCK!) for a change, added foam dots behind each letter to give them some dimension and ended up with this.
I have to admit, I really love the title on this one - that stamp is a awesome cut file and I'm really happy with the colours I went with :)
And that's it. For now! I have another one up my sleeve (think Christmas layout....in September, what the?!) but I'll share that one a little later ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care :)
