Exciting news, actually more like a sharing of something cool...either way, it's exciting (for me)! ;)
Just stopping in quickly to share a couple blogs that I'm featured on this weekend - both are so exciting and I consider myself sooooooooooooo incredibly lucky to have been asked :)
On Saturday this one went up! (just click on image's to go to the web page)
And then this morning it was this!
For some reason I seem to be making less pages lately - mostly because the days are seriously just flying by. I mean it's Friday already! Wha?! Where did my weekdays go?! Not that I am complaining....speedy work days are always a good thing, but because things seem to be flying by, I don't seem to get much done :)
Although I did finally start the Love Your Lettering class at Studio Calico (no longer open - I'm only 4 months late to start...ha!), so I've been practicing my lettering a bit - really enjoying it actually. Finding some letters easy and "fun" and other just plain suck. Persistence is key ;)
Sat down tonight to create a page though - my Studio Calico August kits arrived this week (in record time!). Pop Art is full of colour and big patterns. Not exactly "me" so not sure how many layouts I'll manage to get out of this kit but I'm determined to try! First one I've put together is this one:
The die-cut shapes from the Project Life and Scrapbook kit set the theme for this. Got lucky with the colours in a recent photo of Miss Makayla playing with some photo props - they matched, score!
Most of the bits and pieces are from either the SC August SB or PL kit with the exception of those gems (they're from my stash, originally from an older SC kit and I cant for the life of me remember which!) and the word stickers which came from ABM Happy Mail kit a few months back (May). The title is a die-cut using a SC metal die (can get it here).
Was a little bit of fun putting together but I find using repeating shapes of any type on a layout kinda fun :)
And that's it! Hope your week was a brilliant one and your weekend even better (and if your week is flying by like mine, lets cross fingers the weekend goes at at MUCH slow pace....please!).
Thanks for stopping by. Take care :)
Just dropping in quickly to share a couple more layouts from the August kits!
This one is a combination of the Add-on Kit and Paper Play #1 ;)
Next up I went with something from a few kits - Paper Play, Sprinkles & Pocket Life! Trying to have something other than a white cardstock base ;)
I still have a couple other layouts but they're scheduled for blog posts later in the month so cant share those quite yet! ;)
Hope the start to your week has been a great one! Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care :)
My dear friend Anna decided to set ourselves a little challenge to use hexagons on a layout (well to be honest, I challenged her then I figured I should atleast play along). Trick was to use them in a way you've not done before. Thankfully I've only tried them once for the CTK Sunday Sketch so was easy to mix it up this time!
I was a teeny bit lazy for this one, I hand-cut all the hexagon shapes...could have fired up the silhouette and got them all nice and even but I don't mind the wonkiness :) And its therapeutic sometimes to just cut paper with scissors, imagine that! Finally took a look at the July Fairground SC kit for this too - unpacked it week or so back but had not had a chance to do anything with it. Fun patterns, although I used the 6x4 paper pad so they're a smaller scale.
Hope your week has been a good one so far! Tomorrow is hump day then its only 2 to go. Always counting down to the weekend. Always :)
Take care and thanks for stopping by!
Sorry for no linking up to Anna or previous posts - my blog is being difficult and rather than sit here growling at the computer I'm just gonna leave it!
