Just a quick post this morning (really gotta go make some breakfast for the little dude, lol) to share a layout I made last night. Is there some rule about mixing metallic colours? If so, I broke it. OOPS! But I have to admit, last night...they looked the same, haha.
It wasn't until I was noting down my materials used that I noticed vellum paper is rose gold.....chipboard is bronze. Uh oh. AH WELL! Too bad, so sad ;) And this morning, well yeah, if I look at it in the right angle you can see the difference but honestly...not too bad! So it stays as is and I'm posting it!
I'm scrapping older photo's right now - I've been REALLY REALLY slack taking photo's for the past couple weeks. Just..forget. Which is terrible. I've actually just set up some alarms on my phone to prompt me to take photo's lol. To capture the everyday things that I do or see.
This layout is a mixture of SC kits, bit from Galileo, paper came from Daffodil add-on 3 month's back, chipboard pieces from Carolina Moon. Using all those little pieces I end up hoarding :)
Thanks so much for visiting! I'd best go make the little man his pancakes (yummmmm!!) for breakfast ;)
Hope your weekend is a great one! Stay safe :)
Happy weekend!!! (or Happy Friday depending on where you are!)
I was hoping my July kits for Citrus Twist Kits would arrive yesterday but Mr Postman was a no show. Boooo! Felt the need to make something though so I sat down and decided to challenge myself with the my Studio Calico June kits.
I picked up the Jupiter add-on this month (mostly for those thickers and the papers) and it includes the Crate Paper wood veneer hoops. Usually they would go into the donate/giveaway pile but I decided to challenge myself and use them for a change!
Fairly simple page and quite neutral looking. Decided to go with some blues/teals and bronze (because I had to use those chipboard stars from Carolina Moon!).
Used an old photo of Zack asleep with a book propped up in front of him. He'd fall asleep like this more times than he didn't when he was younger. Now not so much, he puts the book back on his bedside table. It's a little blurry so I turned it to B&W so its not quite as noticeable. Funnily enough, if I left him with the book like this, its how he would wake up in the morning. No joke ;)
Hope you have a fantastic weekend! The sun is actually out today. Still cold and the wind is icy, but atleast its not raining!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Stay safe :)
I'm up on the Citrus Twist Kits blog today sharing a couple projects I made using the Kelly Purkey Outline Letters stamp! The layout above is one of the projects and the other is....something completely different ;)
I hope you'll swing by and check it out!
Sorry for the absence of late but life has been busy.
My nin (mum's mum) passed away last weekend and its thrown us all out of sync. It wasn't completely unexpected and as sad as it is, her passing is a blessing. She had not been well for some time (dementia is a horrible, horrible disease) and had stopped eating recently, so now atleast we can take some comfort knowing she's at peace. No doubt in heaven with Pop (mum's dad) and out on the boat, fishing somewhere with Jerry (our last dog) at their side. Atleast that's how Zack tells it and I think its a gorgeous story :)
To say I've been in a creative funk is an understatement, hah! Not through lack of wanting to make something; just everything I tried was so bleah! But sometimes the only way to get through these things is to just DO IT. So I did. And ended up with this. Not in love and I changed the background papers 4 times before just sticking it all down and telling myself enough is enough, lol.
Took this photo the day after nin's funeral. And don't be fooled by that sun and blue sky. It was so cold that day, but the sun shining through looked pretty so I snapped some shots in the car :)
The acrylic words in the Studio Calico kits this month are kinda awesome - this one is from the Project Life kit. Hope they bring out more (with different words obviously!).
Well that's it for today! I'll be back bit later next week to share another project or two I made using the Citrus Twist Kits June kit. My July kits should be with me next week too, WOHOOO! Nothing like happy mail to brigten your day :)
Hope all is well with you; thank you so much for stopping by and take care!
