I am so excited to be part of the Citrus Twist Kits and The Cut Shoppe blog hop!
Hopefully you've found your way via Candace's blog and are ready for a little more inspiration from me :)
Ashley sent through the most gorgeous cut files for us to use and I knew straight off which I was using and exactly what page I was creating. Which do you think I went with? ;)
Oh yes, that butterfly was totally calling my name!
I've had a photo sitting in my tray for weeks looking for the right opportunity to scrap it and as soon as I saw the butterfly I knew I finally could.
I used a few pieces from the gorgeous May kits (which is still my favourite, I can't say it often enough, loooooove it) for this one as well.
I hand-cut the leaves and just ran them through my sewing machine in the centres so they looked more like leaves and not some random weird shape haha. The butterfly I cut out of white cardstock and it really is quite beautiful in person! Here's a couple close up shots that show it off a lot clearer.
The paper i used for the leaves is from the Pocket Life kit (6x6 Fancy Free) and I added a few little foam crosses and enamel dots (from Main and Add-on kits respectively). Just a couple embellies as I didn't want to add too much to detract from that butterfly!
For my background I went white on white (again, haha) with a few drops of Patina and Butter from Heidi Swapps ColorShine (the mini trio packs, which I picked up from the CTK store).
And now for the best news of all! Just leave a comment at any of the participating blogs during 12-15th May (I'll list them in a minute, just waiiit) and you are in for a chance to win a $20 voucher (one from CTK and one for TCS). How awesome is that?! All you have to do is comment! Easy right?!
Next in the blog hop is the amazingly talented (and equally gorgeous) Jessy! Her pages are always beautiful and leave me in awe (wish I had half her talent!),
And just so it's super easy to find everyone - the full blog hop list is below! Now you've got no excuses to not leave a comment and be in the chance to win! ;)
BUT!!!!!!! Believe it or not, it gets better!
Both Citrus Twist Kits and The Cut Shoppe have some fantastic discounts for you to take advantage of (12-16th May) - see the details below!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to click through to Jessy's blog now! YAYAY!
Happy (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day! Well technically I'm a day late but with the whole time difference thing I'm going to go with it anyway.
I didn't get to sit down and do anything yesterday, Zack had his first game of football. He was so cute. Super nervous (as in he's never been so quiet) but after the first 5 minutes he found his groove and he had fun. They didn't win but they all had a ball anyway. And just because I can I'm going to have a proud-mum moment and share a snap of my little dude in his footy gear (being very serious out there on the field and yet looking kinda cute, haha).
OK back to scrapbooking related news - I wanted to stop by and share my next page using the May kits!
This one was made using the Main kit only :)
Super easy layout - wonky grid underneath with a frame and a couple photo's ontop! Embellish with the pretty sequins and add your title centered at the top. One of my quicker layouts (although still a good 40 minutes from start to finish lol).
And that's it!
I hope you had a wonderful NSD - there were lots of fantastic challenges going around, wish I'd had time to actually join in. Next year I'll have to plan it a little better :)
Thanks for stopping by! Take care, Em xo
Hellooo! Been a busy day - work was crazy as usual, then Zack started football tonight (did well, signed up for his first game this weekend already, ahhh!) and then I had to stop by school again for Parent-Teacher Interview! Good news is Zack's doing well, his confidence is growing and that's all I can hope for. Still needs that bit of extra bit of help but I think that will probably follow him through all his schooling and that's A'OK! Most important thing is his confidence - he's not worrying about saying the wrong thing anymore - he'll give things a go! Yay! ;)
Anyway, thought I'd share my next page using the yummy May kits!
This is a page to share my love of my new coffee machine! I decided to get my Mother's Day present early. Yeah, I buy my own presents from Zack, ha! Well I buy something I like/want and tell him it's his present to me hehe. Although he'll get me something from the school Mother's Day stall tomorrow and that's always a fun little surprise (best $4 present ever!).
I debated for ages about using the "pretty things" on this page because it's just about a coffee machine, but then - why not use them?! It's a story I wanted to tell so I used those pieces that I'd usually save for "something special".
It's kind of silly saving things for something special isn't it? I mean there is always something new coming out that gets my attention and those special things I've saved end up sitting there doing nothing. Well no more! I'm going to use them! Even on layouts about coffee machines.
This page has a little from all the kits - but most of it is from Paige Evans' new Fancy Free line which is absolutely GORGEOUS. I want more of it. I really, really wanted to save those flower die-cuts and chipboard pieces but I'm equally happy I've used them on this page.
More stamping! I know, woopy-doo. But the fact that I stamp is kinda fun to me haha. I've gone so many years not doing it and now I've started. It's funny.
And that's it for today! It's FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY tomorrow. YAYAY! Best day of the week ;)
Hope your day is a great one. Thanks for stopping by! Em xo
Told you I'd be back! (I actually remembered, go me!).
Did you see the fun little IG Hop we've got going on for NSD today? Chances to win prizes people! Click here to go read up on it all (note, my IG link is missing a 3 but you can click on RHS of my blog here to see my post!).
All the girls are doing fun challenges based on one of their layouts! I'm going to try and join in on a few myself (although probably not right now, I'm actually having to do work today, what the?! lol). I'd love to see some people try my little challenge - it's to create a double-page spread using atleast one super-sized photo! If you scrap 12x12 or 8x11 and the thought of going that big freaks you out, then just downsize it; try 6x8 (you know you want to!) or even a 4x4, just use atleast one big photo!
Here's the layout I've based the challenge on ;)
I loooove using big photo's and adding my embellies/journaling straight on top. Because my pages are all 6x8 sometimes the embellies are too big to use but when your photo is the entire page, it really doesn't matter so much ha! Used a little from the Add-on, Embellishment, PL & Sprinkles kits for this page ;)
Notice that stamp at the top?! Oh yes I did! I'm actually trying to be more consistent in using them on pages and it helps that Diane's script on all the stamps this month is absolutely awesome. I LOVE them all and have used them all!
I hope you'll join in on our NSD IG Hop, even if you don't do the challenges you have a chance to win!! Go check it out!!! Gogogogo!
I'll be back later in the week to share a couple other pages using the May kits - I want to say tomorrow but well..this is me so.probably won't happen. I know I'm hopeless. Haha!
Thanks for stopping by! Take care, Em xo
