Just wanted to stop by to share that I'm up on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today with a scraplift challenge! The DT has been sharing a few scraplifting challenges this week and I have to say, it was really fun! :)
Here's a little sneaky look but hope you'll stop by the blog to see more!
Hi friends!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday break this past weekend. We knocked a heap of things off our to-do list so that now I feel like I need a break from my break ;) But no such luck, back to work for me! And back to school for Z-man tomorrow, wohoo! He's not nearly as excited as I am. Hah.
Just thought I'd swing by quickly and share another layout I created using the CTK April kits! This one is a little different for me because there is no photo. No photo?! I know! Crazy, right? But seriously, there is no photo. There are lots and lots of die-cuts however.
And I really love it :)
I'm a lover of die-cuts. All those little bits and pieces make my scrappy heart happy.
I actually started this page with no plan in mind at all. I was just messing around with the die-cuts and I started laying pieces on the page randomly. Before I knew it I had them like this and then the idea for my layout came together!
Little bit of machine stitching here and there, typed up the journalling on the computer and it was done. I added a few foam dots behind a couple die-cuts to give the page a little dimension but it really was a easy page to put together; it just happened - and I love it! Wish all my pages were so simple and easy to put together (because they never are!).
And that's another April layout finished and shared, wohoo! I feel a great satisfaction when I actually get around to blogging all my layouts haha. Always leaving it to the last minute ;)
I won't tell you that my May kits just arrived today and oh-my-gawd..SO GOOD... Oh oops, did I say it outloud?! ;)
Hope the start to your week has been a great one! As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Take care, Em xo
Hi lovelies! Back to share another layout using the gorgeous April kits from CTK. Lots of love for this one for a few reasons... One being cupcakes. Which is self-explanatory really. And two; I combined a few of my favourite designers onto the one page and I think they coordinate so well together!
I love Paige's new line, Oh My Heart (clearly I went with alot of pink here but it's not all like that ;)) and I added in a little from Maggie Holmes and Dear Lizzy. Plus the CTK exclusives = Love!
To be honest, I've been in a little creative funk for the past few weeks - I think mostly it's just due to work being busy (so I'm tired at night) plus I'm obsessed with this crotchet blanket which means not a lot of time for scrapping. I've actually been going back and using older layouts I made for inspiration and noticed that grids are a favourite go-to when I'm stuck.
Although I guess once I decided to cut out a few of those frames (Maggie Holmes, Portrait - from the Main kit) putting them in a grid layout just made sense too ;)
Do you ever make a page and there is one particular part that you love more than anything else? These two sections at the bottom part of my page is that for me. The green stripe paper with frame ontop and then the layered flower sticker, plus the cork shape with my journaling printed on the vellum (which came from my stash) and the b&w stripe paper ...I don't know why but I really love it ha.
The cork shapes included in the Pocket Life kit this month as so fun. I added another one (the XO banner) at the top of my page as well to help balance those colours on my page a bit.
I added a foam dot behind the sticker on the top RH corner and the bottom LH die-cut so give them a little more dimension (like the layered flower sticker that I love!).
Love to hear if anyone else uses their own pages as inspiration when creating new ones? I try not to scraplift myself (ha) but there are some older layouts that I just love the look of, so I figure why not use them again?! ;) Especially if you're in a funk and finding the brain-power to come up with something new seems a chore..
Hope your week is a great one. Have to confess I'm really looking forward to the long weekend (4 days of no work, wohoo!). Thanks so much for stopping by!! Take care, Em xo
Hello, hello! Hope your weekend has been a wonderful (craft-filled?!) weekend. It's Sunday night here so I'm getting ready for work tomorrow, booo! Weekend went by in a flash as usual; although I did get some crafty time in and even managed a few more rows done on the wool blanket I'm crocheting (started another one, it's gonna take me foreverrrrr to finish, ha).
Today I'm up on the Citrus Twist Kits blog with today's Sunday Sketch. I am really enjoying the gorgeous colours of the April kits and have been busy, busy, busy getting my layouts together (I'm a little behind schedule this month, ugh - story of my life lately..). BUT using the sketch this week was a huge bonus - takes the brain work out of the creating (design already done!) and speeds things up so much for me. I really ought to use them more ;)
Hope you'll swing by the CTK blog to read more (and join in for your chance to win prizes!!!).
Thanks for stopping by (as always, I really appreciate you taking the time xoxo). Take care, Em xo
PS - Can I just say I love that rainbow? It's just the cutest puffy sticker ever and I wish there were more of them included in the pack, haha.
