Sorry it's been a little quiet here but I've been busy! Worked on my layouts for On The Grid (signed up yet?! Go onnn, you know you want to!), ended up with 3.... I'm hopeless. Plus I've got an upcoming blog post for CT, eek! My first post there. Kinda excited, kinda scared :)
However I did manage to get a layout done that wasn't class or DT related! Friday night on the way home from work I popped into my local crafty store to pick up more white cotton and I found....GOLD METALLIC! Oh.my.gosh! I never knew it existed lol. You can bet I did a little dance and brought some of it home to play with.
Which is exactly how this layout came about. I wanted to sew gold. I grouped it with some mint. I added a starburst because I think they're fun and voila! Sixty eight candles. My dad will probably frown big time knowing I've just put that number out there but thankfully he's not a frequent visitor so I think I'll be safe ;)
I used the cameo to cut the patterned paper star bursts (created my own in silhouette studio, super easy). The white cardstock layer was actually from a mistake when I sewed on the white backing page the first time....figured I might as well use it! So I just cut it out with scissors, twisted it around so you could actually see them and made it another layer :)
The font for the title is Ondise incase you are curious. Not a free font but oh so worth it. One of my favourites, ever.
All in all I have to stay I love gold thread. I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise for any over use of it in future layouts. Ha! Although white. I love white. Alot, alot. Use it all the time. And habits are so hard to break ;)
Hope the start to your week is a fantastic one! My SC kit arrived today while I was at work, so I've been unpacking it since after dinner and its GOOD. Oh so good.
Take care :)
