Hi scrappy friends! Can you believe I'm back to share another page?!
This time I thought I'd go with a few PL spreads using the Pocket Life kit. Lots of amazing exclusive goodies in the Pocket Life kit this month (which is always a good thing!).
My PL spreads are super simple I know but it's how I get it done - if I complicate things I'll just give up and I don't want to. I really enjoyed looking back at my original PL spreads (2011/2012) so I'm determined to make this work! I'm not following any format in terms of how often I create a spread but I think I'll probably keep it a couple pages per month.
My first week has a combination of the 2x2 pockets on the left side and 3x4/4x6 pockets on the
right side. I tried to stick with a green/grey/red colour scheme (although that blue die-cut had to go there, I mean I did a page about magic and it says "TA-DA!" - how perfect was that?! Haha).
I did add a few alpha's from my stash to this spread, the red and pink on the bottom right pocket (so they matched the stripes on the card!).
My next page has more football (we do this every weekend at the moment so I have to include it!) and a little card that Zack made my mum & dad for Grandparents Day at school. Zack also lost another tooth this week so I included the "Tooth Fairy Receipt" that she leaves behind each time. I've kept every one of those cards and they're a cute little way to keep track of each tooth. I truly adore that he still believes :)
I used the August 2017 This Is Life "Entertainment" Stamp on one of my cards (RHS top) to tell the story about our "movie night" (which is basically just Zack having an excuse to camp out in the lounge room haha).
I am a sucker for cork pieces and the kit has pieces iwth some cute sentiments this month. This one fit the photo perfectly!
And with that my PL is sort of up-to-date! I'm really enjoying putting these layouts together and although we're not doing anything remarkable each week, I am glad these little everyday stories are being recorded. Looking back in 5-10 years will be so awesome.
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Take care, Em xo
Just stopping by really quickly to share that I am up on the CVS blog today sharing a new page using the Totally Rad collection (which will forever be one of my favourites, I just loooove it so!).
Hope you'll pop by to read more!
Hello friends! Has it really been over 3 weeks since I last posted? GAH! The Worst Blogger Award would definitely have to go to me... I'm sorry ;) But I've finally sat my butt down in front of the computer (with coffee) and I'm determined to get a few posts done...so lets go!
Super excited to be sharing my first page using the CTK Add-on kit for August. I love, love, love this one. And the fact that it has plenty of gorgeous Maggie Holmes goodies in it has absolutely nothing to do with it. Well not much. (OK I lied). Here's a quick look at the kit incase you didn't see it on the web (and you can click piccy to go straight to the CTK site and see all the August kits!):
I mean, how pretty is that?! Seriously. All the kits are super duper this month, I've got 4 layouts and 2 PL spreads finished so far this month using a mixture of the August kits; and it's only been a week! Love when it all comes together so easily :)
So here's my first page using Add-on and Embellishment kit (just the Maggie Holmes Carousel Clip):
I just love all the Maggie Holmes papers in the kit; the colours and patterns are so pretty. For my background I went with white cardstock (as usual, ha) and cut little strips (all around 4 inch high x random widths). Then I just positioned them along the bottom of my page and machine stitched them in place.
I'd originally planned on using one big 6x4 photo of Makayla cheerting at the top of my page but after typing up the journaling I thought it needed the second shot to make the story clearer. I flipped them to black and white so the colours didn't clash (the green hedge in the background was not a good match lol).
I printed my journaling directly onto one of the die-cut pieces from the Kaisercraft Daydreamer Collectables (just stuck the card onto a piece of cardstock then ran it through the printer).
I love the foam thickers included in the kit; that pink on the back and sides?! Yesss! I also added one of the clips included in the Embellishment kit but I removed the back clip part (using it was a bit of an after thought and I'd stitched the paper already so couldn't get it to clip onto the layout the way I wanted, so off it popped and I just used foam tape behind to stick it down, ha).
And there you go; my first page using the August kits shared! Wohoo! I'll do my best to be back in a few days to share the next one, or maybe a PL spread...I'll surprise ya ;)
Hope the start to your week is a great one and thank you so much for stopping by; I truly appreciate you taking the time to do so! Take care, Em xo
