Been taking bit of a break from layouts; hanging out with the little dude more and just relaxing around the house. Seems to happen each winter - the worse the weather gets the more blah I get so my photo taking and scrapping in general tends to take a back seat. On the plus side though, I did a major clean up and have piles of things give away to friends and Zack's school!
Did manage to sit down today and get a layout done though. Challenged myself to use the wood pieces from the Hello Hello SB kit. Usually things like that would go straight onto the "donate" pile but thought I'd give them a try this time around.
This is what I ended up with:
I cut the wood piece using a old craft knife (5-6 slices then it just snapped where I'd made the cut) and drew the stitching lines on top with a White Signo pen. Tried to add another wood piece down the bottom but they're just so big! Ended up using a few little bits and bobs from a number of different kits instead, which is always good to do :)
Think I might give the Sunday Sketch a go next. Missed doing the last few for some reason or other. New one comes out tomorrow already but I really love Anna-Maria's layout using the Hello Hello kit so keen to try out it! Maybe even group it with Ginny's challenge to go digital.....hybrid layouts really are a heap of fun!
