Hi scrappy friends! Excited to finally share a little mini I made a few weeks ago for one of my dearest scrappy friends! The CVS DT have been sharing projects with a summer theme on the blog and although I'm not scheduled this week, I wanted to create something and join in. Down side to that though is we're in the middle of winter (blahhh) so summer-theme photo's are a little tricky to come by, so I asked Anna if she would like a little mini made by me and she sent me the cutest photo's of her youngest over for me to use! I've never actually made a mini for someone before which made this even more fun ;)
I used the gorgeous Endless Summer collection for the entire mini and I'm so happy how it turned out. The soft colours of this collection are so gorgeous in person (my photo's do not do it justice!) and the embellishments throughout are cute but not overly theme-y, which I absolutely love!
The base of my mini was dictated by the This & That paper - I really wanted to use the "Hello Sunshine" 3x4 card for my cover so I sent the whole album to that size. It folds apart and I just used little strips of vellum (from my stash) to act as my hinges (cut 1 inch x 4 inch strips, folded them in the centre then stuck them to the paper so it folded back and forth as needed - probably a easier way to do it but this worked for me ha!).
Actually putting it together was a breeze. I picked my papers and cut the to 3x4 size - then just played around until I had a combination I was happy with. Originally I had not thought of using any 3x4 photo's but I loved those photo's of the kids so I just stuck them straight over the paper!
I had to include a sequin pocket because a mini of mine just does not seem complete without one. I created 3x4 vellum pocket and filled it with pastel sequins that matched the papers (I machine stitched around the edges to stop them all falling out).
To keep the mini closed I used a bit of ribbon and just stitched it at the edges of the top/bottom card edges - one piece being longer than the other so it can wrap around it a couple times - then I just tie a bow and it's secured! Looks so cute!
Embellishing is the favourite part of any layout or mini for me - I can happily spend hours putting all the little bits and pieces everywhere. Thankfully all the embellishments in the Endless Summer collection are super cute - my only regret is that I didn't have 2 of some of them, ha ;)
I love creating these little books and this one came together so easily - which helps when you have the cutest photo's and a happy collection to match!
And here's a look at the full album ;)
Started work on another mini already too. I am obsessed with these little books at the moment.
Hope your weekend is a great one. Thanks so much for stopping by!! Take care, Em xo
PS - Anna, thank you so much for sharing these photo's with me - hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it!! xoxo
