We're finally here! New kits are revealed, wohoo! I love reveal days and reading everyone's reactions to the kits we've been working with ;) No surprise that this month's kits are gorgeous!
In the past I've struggled with other kits because of the different seasons - US is in autumn/fall/winter mode and we're heading into our summer so I'm looking for bright colours, but the kits I've used in the past were...more subdued. Nothing to fear with the CTK November kits though! Lots of soft tones with pops of colour! LOVE!
Here's a look at this months kits!
I've managed 6 layouts so far. Another month where the kits were just so easy to use; which you've got to love ;) As always, here's a few layouts (in the order they were created so you can see how this brain of mine processed it all, ha).
First up I went with the Add-on kit! And yes, the gold suckered me in.
Used a stamp, wohoo! Not the neatest I know but you know me and stamps....I tried, but then one went out of alignment and I was like...ahh, whatever ;) Added some stitching on either side to try and even out the border (but even that's not straight lol). Sometimes you just have to embrace the imperfections and go with it.
The journaling was fun! Admittedly it took a couple times for me to get the spacing right to fit those little phrase stickers; but I really like how it looks. Adds something a little fun to what is otherwise just plain typed journaling for me :)
Next up I wanted to use more colour. And I wanted to scrap the photo of the donuts I made. Ahh, donuts.
I love the Dear Lizzy paper in the main kit but the circles are just that little too big for my pages so I use the 6x6 piece out of the Pocket Life instead! Perfect scale for my pages ;)
The thickers from the Main kit are so pretty. Have to stop myself from hoarding them ;)
Side note - Although it was fun to make donuts. They make a mess! So much easier to just buy 'em. Still, I hadn't made them before so atleast I've learned something new lol. Not that they are that hard to begin with....
Next up, and last one for today, is this!
I was drawn to the yellow that features throughout all the kits, it's such a happy colour. Team it up with the black, gold and shades of purple and this feels all springy to me (which is when it was taken and season we're in now!).
Super easy design for this layout. I just created a grid using blocks pattern paper. Added a few clusters of embellishments and it was done!
So happy the gold phase hasn't passed yet. Although it's a pain to photograph (!!!!), I love how the foils adds movement to the page; depending on what angle you view the page from, it looks different.
And that's it for today!! Few of the other DT girls have started uploading their layouts this month so I hope you'll swing by the gallery to check them out too! Always amazing to see how others use the same kits :)
What's been your favourite from this month's kits? I'd love to hear what you think!!
It's actually a day off for those of us that work in Melbourne today, we've got the Melbourne Cup a bit later (I'm not really into horse racing; couldn't even tell you who the favourite's to win were!). Zack's off school for 3 days too....seriously; I wish I could go back to school and get all their holidays again. We've got no real plans for the day, hoping to get some scrapping done a bit later and generally just relax!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care :) Em xo
